The EU-Korea free trade agreement will come into force in July 2011 and is expected to increase interest and double bilateral trade. Korea is a market leader in engineering, telecommunications, automotive and technology sectors. Its stock exchange (KRX – Korean Stock Exchange) is the third largest bourse in Asia and is currently looking into expanding into European and emerging markets with a view to diversifying its revenue sources.
